Governance refers to the way that Yorkshire Netball is managed and operated. We have a dedicated Governance & Finance working group who develop and monitor our policies and procedures.

Tier 1 Code of Sports Governance

As a local committee, Yorkshire Netball is working towards achieving Tier 1 of a Code for Sports Governance, by meeting the 8 mandatory requirements of the role.

In 2016, Sport England and UKSport launched 'A Code for Sports Governance' to drive improvement across all areas of governance. To date, the Code has been applied to over 4,000 organisations in receipt of Government or National Lottery funding and has had a significant impact in helping to improve the standard of governance across both sports and non-sports organisations.

The Code for Sports Governance sets out the level of transparency, diversity and inclusion, accountability and integrity that are required from those organisations that seek - and are in receipt of - UK Government and National Lottery funding from Sport England and/or UK Sport.
