Safeguarding 'We all have a role to play'

Yorkshire Netball is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for those involved in the sport.

We believe that everyone has a part to play in ensuring that young people, and all involved in the game, are safe and getting the most they can from their involvement in the sport.

To ensure that Netball in Yorkshire is enjoyable and safe, everyone has a responsibility to:

  • create a safe environment
  • implement safeguarding policies and procedures
  • raise awareness and provide appropriate support and intervention when necessary
  • provide guidance and support to all involved in Netball.

Our responsibility

Yorkshire Netball, through its regional governance, supports England Netball and its role in supporting the Netball community in the region.

We will:

  • offer assistance to England Netball, when required, in investigating concerns raised
  • promote good practice
  • support disciplinary action against any members (and connected participants and staff) where there is alleged breach of:
    • policy
    • Safeguarding Disciplinary Regulations
    • the Codes of Conduct and Disciplinary Regulations.

England Netball and Yorkshire Netball takes the safeguarding of its participants and members extremely seriously. We have guidance, advice and support available to everybody involved with the sport.
